♦ ♦ Pitchstar ♦ ♦ ShadowClan Leader Before he leapt off to go join Twilightpaw once more, he said to Spookstep, "Let me know if you need anything." Then he turned and his back paws let him soar through the air. In two bounds he was back by Twilightpaw's side again. "We'll be going to the Dead-Tree Clearing. Now, I'm going to be running really fast. I'm going to see how well you can keep up with me, so try your best." He touched his nose to her nose, and then scampered through the clan entrance and out into the pine area of ShadowClan territory.
Knowing the territory well, he knew exactly when to jump and duck. For Twilightpaw, it wouldn't be as easy he knew, but after doing this a couple days in a row, maybe she would get the hang of it. Finally, he reached the clearing.
Pitchstar looked back to see how Twilightpaw was coming along. As he watched he sat down, and rested his tail over his paws. His yellow eyes watching her and never blinking as she came closer. Once she reached the clearing, he said, "Good," and nodded. "Would you like to start with hunting or fighting?" he asked. This would be a good indicator of Twilightpaw's character. Personally, Pitchstar hated fighting. He was that kind of cat.

Twilightpaw once again smiled at Owlkits face expression. She knew the little kit was sad and mad at not being able to go to. But soon, not long away, she and her litter mates would become apprentices. And they would be able to have mentors. Twilightpaw smiled. She was so glad she was an apprentice finally. Even though the apprentices den did feel empty; because she was the only apprentice in Shadowclan right now.
Twilightpaw nodded to Pitchstar, she narrowed her eyes. She could run very fast! She would impress him big time! But when he started running, it seemed like he had super speed. Twilightpaw knew that was illogicial, but it still seemed like he did. Twilightpaw tried very hard to keep up with him; but she was unfamiliar with the ground and the new territory she was seeing right then. She tripped unexpectdily over a log and did a summer salt roll. When she looked up she saw Owlkit and Dark-kit togther. She felt the pain in her stomach. Of loosing her two littlermates; Redkit and Hawkkit. If they were alive right now, she would have someone to talk to. And to sleep by in her new den.
She shook her head and gathered up her thoughts. She had to grow up. She had to move on. She was Pitchstar's apprentice now. She had to impress her mentor. She had to work extra hard to become and great warrior of Shadowclan. She got back up and started running again. Sniffing the ground then and again to track Pitchstar and where he went and was going. But she couldn't help but one tear from coming and falling onto a leaf.
When she got to the dead-tree clearing she couldn't help but panting. She had never ran like that before in her life. She never knew that a cat could possibly run that fast. After a mintute of catching her breath Twilightpaw got up and walked near Pitchstar. Hunting or fighting? She didn't really want to start battle training on her first day; she would much rather do hunting. Twilightpaw blinked and looked up at him. She wondered what he liked more. "Hunting please", she said quitley. Then she shook her head in self discouragement. She was sappossed to say it strongly. She tried again. "Hunting", she said more loud this time and tried to sit up tall.

♦ ♦ Pitchstar ♦ ♦ ShadowClan Leader Pitchstar smiled at his apprentice, glad she had chosen hunting, but it quickly disappeared. "Good," he replied. "That's my favorite too."
"Now," Pitchstar said, "what do you smell or scent in or near the clearing?" Pitchstar himself scented. There were mostly blackbirds hovering up in the branches in the trees above him. He also caught a small scent of mouse, and of course, Twilightpaw's and his own scent. He stopped his sniffer. That would be enough. Maybe Twilightpaw would scent something he hadn't before he had stopped. Then he could praise her.
Despite him trying to hide his emotions, he couldn't help but feel proud and happy to have an apprentice again. Being leader could be so dull sometimes! Pitchstar sat down contentedly with his tail over his paws. Muse; Fairly decent Character Mood; Proud RPer Mood; Tired Word Count; 156 words... dang... Other; Sorry for the long delay
