Sunsetstar smiled as he walked into camp. The border partol with Serpentpaw, Swiftpaw, Feathersong, and Sanddune. Sunsetstar thought the patrol had gone well. He told Serpentpaw and Swiftpaw to drop their prey off to the elders and the fresh kill pile. Serpentpaw was going to get a big surpise. He jumped onto the big broken boulder and called a clan meeting.

Serpentpaw walked into camp with his head high.He had caught a huge rabbit.Quickly he ran over to give it to the elders.When he was done checking on them he saw Sunsetstar jump to Highrock.He wondered why.Had something happened?He decided to just sit and wait.

He started to daydream about what his warrior name might be.Serpentspirit,Serpentfang,Serpentheart,Serpentsight.Oh he could hardly wait until he was a warrior.He would miss training with Swiftpaw,but he would still try to hang out with him now that they had become friends.He waited patiently to here what the meeting was called for.He hoped it was nothing serious.The clan did not need anymore problems.

Sunsetstar could see Serpentpaws face. He smiled. Serpentpaw was going to get a huge surpise. He waited for all his clanmates to come and started to speak. "I today, Sunsetstar leader of Skyclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look upon one apprentice that has worked hard to become a loyal warrior of our clan; Skyclan. This apprentice is a bit young, 13 moons actully. But he has proven to me, that he is ready to become a full grown warrior of this clan. Serpentpaw, please come up to the Big Broken Boulder please". He grinned, he could see Serpentpaw's exiteded face. He waited for him to come up. When he was up, he started again. "Serpentpaw, do you promise to follow the warrior code and defend Skyclan even with the risk of your life?". He waited for his awnser(just pretend he awnsered). He nodded his head and spoke again, a huge smile on his face. "Then by the power of Starclan, I give you your warrior name. Serpentpaw, by this day forward, you will be known as Serpentsoul. Skyclan honors your loyalty and your heart. You are now a full warrior of Skyclan". Sunsetstar licked the top of Serpentsoul's head.

Sanddune

Sanddune walked out of the forest and dropped his prey in the fresh kill pile. The border patrol had gone quite well. He yawned and walked over to the Big Broken Boulder as Sunsetstar called a clan meeting. He smiled as he relized Serpentpaw was going to be made a warrior. He might not have trained him for long, but he was his mentor for a while. He smiled and called out "Serpentsoul! Serpentsoul!". He grinned and hugged his daughter Curiouskit.

Curiouskit smiled. She was glad Serpentpaw was made a warrior. He deserved it and worked hard to be made a warrior early.

Serpentpaw was soo excited.It had been a complete surprise, and it showed on his face.To him this was a great honor because he was still young.He did work very hard though so he was so proud of himself.He looked into the sky and wondered if his family and previous mentor was watching him now.

When he heard his new name he almost burst out of his skin.He barely managed to lick Sunsetstar`s shoulder.Serpentsoul was a great name.It suited him n every way.He turned and couldn`t hold in his happiness.He found that he did not want to either.His face lite up as his clanmates chanted his name.He wondered if this is what every cat felt like, or if ever ceremnoy had a diffrent effect on each cat.

He walked over to the center of the camp to sit out his vigil.Eventhough he had been out all day training and hunting he was not tired.He felt as though his blood was on fire. He was so alive and cheerful.Tomorrow would be his first day as a warrior officially.He was now considered a mature cat.All his hard work had paid off.He was one step closer to gaining his own apprentice.He could think about maybe starting a family someday.He had all the time in the world ahaed of him, and he looked forward to its surprises with an open mind and heart.He stared into the stars and wondered if his parents were really watching him with pride in there eyes and overflowing hearts.

He looked over to Sunsetstar and smiled in thanks.This had meant alot to him.It was unexpected,but he welcomed the new possibilities that it brought.

Sanddune smiled. He looked at Serpentsoul and nodded. He knew the rules of vigil.

Curiouskit

Curiouskit wanted to go and run off to Serpentsoul and ask him how it felt to be a warrior. He must be happy, she thought. But even she knew she couldn't. A new warrior had to sit through his vigil silently.

Swiftpaw brought his prey to the pile as he normally would. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until Sunsetstar hopped on the rock. Again? I mean, really, what is this? Like the fourth time he has hopped on that rock this week?

Swiftpaw, however irritated, walked over to the rock. Swiftpaw noticed Serpentpaw among the crowd. His first thought was hatred, but then he remembered the forest talk. His feelings softened, but he still felt like they weren't completely friends yet. His feelings contradicted one another, one full of hate, and the other full of happinees. In the end, it just made one really confused mess. This would continue to be Swiftpaw's mood for many days. Only when he was completely alone did he finally reach true happiness and peace. Around others, his feelings mixed once more, most of the time leaning towards his anger and depressing side.

Swiftpaw snapped to attention as he heard Sunsetstar call Serpentpaw's name. He was getting a warrior ceremony. Again, feelings contradicted. He felt happy for the young warrior, but also, jealousy invaded his thoughts. Swiftpaw struggled to not run away, to be away from the others, to get his thoughts in order once more.

Serpentpaw's warrior name was called, and Swiftpaw cheered for him. However, his cheer wasn't exactly hearty. It might not really have been a cheer at all, more of a loud call. Swiftpaw walked up to the newly made warrior. He knew Serpentpaw couldn't say anything. Before the talk, Swiftpaw would have been free to jeer at him without him being able to pounce back, but that had changed. Now he was just confused again. He was going to say congrats, but still the feeling held back. So instead, he paused awkwardly in front of the tom, and finally nodded his head before moving onto the apprentice's den.
