[glow=brown,2,300]Roughpelt[/glow]Roughpelt paced around the camp.His nerves were on end.The memories from the patrol that he had lead not a few hours ago were still etched in his mind.They probably would stay with him for the rest of his life.He was just appointed the new deputy not too many moons before,and now this.
It had been an uneventful and peaceful day.Roughpelt had set up all the patrols and had gone hunting with Birchstar.As they were hunting Birchstar wandered off.Not thinking too much of it Roughpelt continued to hunt.While he was walking back to camp he had spotted the horendous site.Birchstar lay dead,crushed by a tree.Roughpelt carried his broken and lifeless leader back to camp,and stood over him.It was now his time to lead the clan.
To him it seemed to soon,but he knew that he was the cat that Birchstar had chosen as his successor.So Roughpelt had risen to the occasion for the good of the clan.They needed to remain strong.Birchstar was still watching after them from Starclan.
He stood now at Highledge looking down at the grieving clan.They knew what his speech was going to be about.They knew the pain that he was feeling,the pain they all felt.Roughpelt stood and shook out his pelt.His eyes traveled over the clan one last time before he spoke those familar words that Birchstar had spoken countless times before."Let all cats old enough to catch there own prey gather for a clan meeting!"His voice was strong and firm.Even though he grieved he would show his clan that he was ready for this task.He was probably one of the younger leaders,but that only made him more determined to do well.Now he waited patiently for all the cats too look to high rock.

[glow=blue,2,300] ~Chloe~ [/glow][glow=purple,2,300] Thunderclan Medicine Cat [/glow] Chloe was trying to sleep in her den, but it wasn't working. She couldn't stop seeing the dead image of Birchstar in her head. Over and over again; it just wouldn't stop. Each time she closed her eyes, there was the Birchstar; all bloody because of being crushed by a falling tree. It was probably because of the storm that had accured just the day before her death. The wind had probably broken up the roots of the tree, and when Birchstar came by; well you know the rest. She closed her eyes for a secound, but opened them a secound later because wetness was sliding down her temples. She looked at her whiskers, long and white and saw a tear. She was crying. She blinked, more tears came. She closed her eyes and just cried and whimpered. She hadn't felt more alone since her mother died. Birchstar was a great friend to her. She was the cat who trusted her and brought her into Thunderclan. She finally had a home. Chloe opender her eyes. But just because Birchstar was dead, didn't mean she didn't have a home. The cats of Thunderclan had grown used to her. She was part of Thunderclan now. She was their medicine cat.
Chloe got up and wiped her eyes as she heard Roughpelt's yowl for a clan meeting. She sat for a moment, waiting for her eyes to dry. A moment later, she walked out of her den. A light warm wind fluffed her fur up a bit. She walked up to some of her clanmates and sat down. There was Roughpelt ontop of the Highledge. He probably wont pick a deputy today, she thought, theres not enough cats yet. She looked up at him and met his eyes. She smiled at him encougly. She could tell he was nervous, but he was a wonderful cat and deputy. And no doubt that he would make a great leader.[glow=brown,2,300] +Tabbykit+ [/glow] [glow=black,2,300]A young, adventurous, smart mouthed kit of Thunderclan[/glow] Tabbykit yawned. He just woke up from a big nap, he was sore all over. Yesterday was so much fun; playing with his brother and Sprucekit all day long. He got up, and walked out of the den. He saw Roughpelt ontop of the Highledge. He shruged and went back into the nursersy and fell asleep.

[glow=gold,2,300]Falconclaw[/glow]
Falconclaw walked out of the warriors den.Her eyes were still heavy with sleep.She looked up and saw Roughpelt calling a meeting,and suddenly remembered what had happened to Birchstar.She would miss her leader,but she was happy for Roughpelt as well.He was a good choice for leadership,and she knew he would do well.She wondered who his deputy would be.There were not many cats in the clan yet,so it would be a hard decision.One that would take a few days or more.It would be important,and hopefully a great cat,so he had to get it right.Slowly because she was still tired, she walked over and waited for him to speak.
[glow=orange,2,300]Flamekit[/glow]
Flamekit had been playing with his brother Tabbykit and his ffriend Sprucekit all day.He was devestated to see that Birchstar was dead.He had been hopeing that in two more moons that Birchstar would have been his mentor,but that was impossible now.He poked his head out for a moment and prayed to Starclan in Birchstar`s honer,then he went back in after his brother.
[glow=darkgreen,2,300]Sprucekit[/glow]
She went after the two tom kits and stopped when she saw Birchstar`s body lying on te ground.She cried a little and went back into the den.

[glow=blue,2,300] ~Chloe~ [/glow][glow=purple,2,300] Thunderclan Medicine Cat [/glow] Chloe continued to sit by her clanmates and waited for Roughpelt to speak. He would proabably leave soon to get his nine lives. Tabbykit ~ Tabbykit woke up a little and opened his eyes. He looked around for Flamekit and Sprucekit. When he saw them he smiled. (sorry its so short. I dont have enough time to make it longer)

Roughpelt looked down at the clan.His clan now.The weight of this great responsibility was alot to bare.He spoke in a firm voice,not showing his unhappiness that his leader was gone."As some of you know Birchstar was killed.She was struck, and crushed by the weight of a tree.It had been shaky from the preivous rainfall.Unfortunatly Birchstar was in its path when it fell.She lived for her clan.She will be remembered as a noble and strong leader.I was her deputy,so I shall go to Shining pool and recieve my nine lives.I will leave imediatly"With that he jumped off of Highrock and signaled for Chole to ready herself and follow.He had heard of the pain that nine lives often brought,and found that he was not afraid.He had to be strong now,more than ever.

[glow=blue,2,300] Chloe [/glow][glow=purple,2,300] Thunderclan Medicine Cat [/glow] Chloe listened to Roughpelts words. Each word seemed to hit her like a claw, digging into her flesh. She was so sad about Birchstar, but she had to handle it. She was the medicine cat of Thunderclan. She was high up and she had to set an example. When Roughpelt jumped off of the Highrock, she ran to her den quickly and gathered some herbs he would need for extra stregth on his journey to the Moonpool. She got a big oak leaf and wrapped some herbs in it. She made the leaf stay closed so none of the herbs would fall out. When he got weak, he could just unwrap it easily and eat the herbs. When she was done preparing the travling herbs for Roughpelt, Chloe stepped out of her den and sort of skipped to Roughpelt. She dropped the travling herbs at his feet. "Roughpelt, if you didn't know, theses are some travling herbs i've prepared for you. They will help boost your steangth. I advise you to eat them when you need them most". She let him take all that in. "Also, you'd better hunt and eat something before you leave out territory". She smiled. She licked his cheek a little. "And be safe. Please Roughpelt, be safe. Thunderclan needs a strong leader right now". She smiled warmly. She knew he was scared.[glow=brown,2,300] +Tabbykit+[/glow][glow=black,2,300] [/glow] A young, curious, and smart mouthed kit of Thunderclan Tabbykit layed in his little make shift bed of moss and sighed. He was sad about Birchstars death, even though she was crazy for letting that loner 'Chloe' into the clan. He let his eyes drop. But for some reason he just couldn't seem to sleep.

He smiled as Chole brought out the many herbs for him.He desperatly wanted to take them,but as the code said he must travel without eatting anything.This also meant that he could not hunt before he left either.He had not eatten since the patrol with Birchstar,but he would survive.He must for if he failed the clan would be in dismay at there current unfortunes.
He noded to Chole."Thank you for offering,but I am forbidden to eat before I speak with Starclan.I must be off now,I have a long way to go."He noded again and left in a hurry.He wanted to get the whole thing over with,and the thought of seeing his ancestors was tempting him to move faster.He also wanted to see Birchstar again,and let him know that his clan would be safe.
He raced through the forest without slowing.The wind raked at his pelt,only it pushed him forward.It was alnost as if the wind was cheering him to get there faster.He picked up his speed and fluffed out his fur against the wind.
(occ)ok now i will make the really long starclan post.I will probably try and do it all at once in one post is that ok Rain?

Chloes head slowly turned to her side. Her eyes got big and confused. That usuaslly happened when she didn't understand. "But I was sure you could bring these herbs with you.... I didn't think it was forbbiden. But okay....", she trailed off. She shrugged. She was still somewhat new. But she thought that he should have been able to eat them. She nodded, fully aware that she wasn't underatnding anything that was going on. On the outside, she just shrugged it off. But in the inside, deep deep down, she felt terrible. She had been here for at least a moon. And she didn't reamber something as simple as that?

++Mothstripe++ ThunderClan Warrioress [/i][/u][/right] Mothstripe yawned. She knew nothing, her mind peacefully blank as it usually was before she was fully awakened from naps and such. Her memories faded back blissfully and slowly. Not all at once, just peaceful as a small brook that had been blocked by a dam let free piece by piece. Along with the memories came pain, the soreness of her muscles. She hadn't done much for the Clan for the past few weeks, and felt slightly guilty for it. So she had hunted all day yesterday, trying to make up for losses. Prey was so plentiful now that it was greenleaf, and she had caught so much, she was sure she had hunted enough for the very small clan to each eat two small pieces of prey. Very small, indeed. We have barely enough cats to call ourselves a clan at all, she thought.
Mothstripe stretched for a second letting loose the pain, and taking it away somewhat. She made sure she stretched every possible part of her body. She wanted to make sure she could relieve the soreness as much as she could. Then, after one minute of grooming, she stepped out into the mid-morning sun, blazing on her pelt and warming it like a rock.
Right at that moment, Roughpelt called a meeting. Mothstripe found it rather odd. Birchstar had been in perfectly good health a couple days ago hadn't he? She hadn't seem him yesterday because of all her hunting she had done. Maybe something had happened to him then. As she pushed her way through the few cats in front of the deputy she saw a broken body. She didn't want to believe it, but she knew as soon as she saw it that it was Birchstar. His ribs were crushed, abnormally flat. The dent in his side was about the size of a tree trunk. Looking around, and asking a few cats, she found that that was the case. Poor Birchstar. Mothstripe was sad, but no tear escaped. She was very good at keeping those in.
Seeing her newest friend, Chloe, the loner medicine cat, Mothstripe walked over to her. "Hey Chloe!" she greeted. A trace of sadness still remained in her eyes over Birchstar though. As soon as Roughpelt had ended the meeting and was about to leave, Chloe had placed in front of the leader a mixture of herbs and was talking about prey. How sad her face looked when he described to her that cats could not eat before talking with StarClan. "It's okay, Chloe," she said reassuringly and rubbed her cheek on Chloe's shoulder. "You couldn't have known." \\Russetpaw\\ ThunderClan Apprentice [/u][/right] Russetpaw was already on the body of the leader when Roughpelt called the meeting. He had been there as soon as he had heard about it yesterday. So far he had slept on Birchstar's body, eaten near Birchstar's body, and stayed near Birchstar all the while. Some of the elders found it disgraceful that he had been eating and sleeping on the leader, but some agreed it showed how loyal and how much he missed Birchstar. Russetpaw obviously voted for the latter. He still had tears in his eyes about it. The sobbing only got worse when Roughpelt described how Birchstar had been killed and that he would go to get his nine lives.
Russetpaw wasn't sure why he was so dedicated to Birchstar. He just knew it from the start. He had been born under the leader's reign, so maybe that was why. He wasn't completely sure. There were a ton of possible theories. Whatever the reason, he didn't want to leave the leader's side. What could they ever do without the best leader ever? Russetpaw didn't notice any of the hustle and bustle of camp. His whole focus and attention was still on Birchstar, as if he expected Birchstar to suddenly wake up again, as if he had just been sleeping very deeply and the dent in his side was just a figment of the imagination. But the longer he waited, the more he realized: Birchstar isn't coming back.
